Donn and I have covered a handful of "Sightseeing" columns for Artsee magazine this summer, and one of the earliest was an excursion to the EnergyXchange in Burnsville, North Carolina, where glassblower Aaron Baigelman hosted us for the day.
We arrived early on a Saturday morning, with the quonset huts high on a hill above the landfill from which methane is pumped to run the artists' studios, and stayed all day. By the time we left after sunset, we felt like we had made new friends.
